Arnold Buckman - Multi-Industry Business Owner
Arnold Buckman is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and business leader with decades of experience spanning agriculture, aviation, recycling, real estate, and private equity. Based in Port Orange, Florida, Arnold Buckman is the owner of Buckman Farms, overseeing several thousand acres of farmland in Illinois, and since 1994, has been an owner/member of Buckman Aviation LLC, chartering and flying several aircraft.
A fourth-generation metal recycling business owner, Arnold Buckman is president of Buckman Iron & Metal Co., Inc. He leads a family-owned recycling enterprise with a remarkable 124-year history, operating facilities in La Salle, Mendota, and Ottawa, Illinois. His leadership has helped expand, modernize, and sustain the long-standing industrial business. He even relocated the La Salle facility to a state-of-the-art building and introduced Northern Illinois’ first drive-thru scrap recycling facility.
In addition, Mr. Buckman holds a diverse portfolio of real estate assets across Northern California, North Central Illinois, and Central Florida. He is also CEO and Owner of Buckman Trading, where he actively manages and trades a private wealth equity fund, building on his experience as a floor trader with MF Global. He currently trades through Archer Daniels Midland. He holds seats on both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.
Beyond business, Mr. Buckman is a Rotarian of 40 years and a Paul Harris Fellow, with honors including an invitation selecting him as one of the top 12 CEO’s of Corporations located in Illinois by the Illinois Governor’s office to attend a private dinner on the Lincoln Table of the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield on how to promote economic development and form a statewide economic development council working directly with the Governor promoting Illinois to new businesses and expanding existing businesses within Illinois. The guests included Mr. Arnold Buckman CEO of Buckman Iron & Metal Co., INC., CEO of Caterpillar, CEO of State Farm, Vice Chairman Archer Daniels Midland, CEO of Ameren, CEO Rocky Wirtz of Wirtz Corporation and the Chicago Blackhawks, CEO of Accenture and others.
He enjoys an active lifestyle, with interests ranging from boating and flying to scuba diving, skiing, live music, fine automobiles, and motorcycling.
